Mystery of the Rosebud

On August 3, 1876, 39 days after the Battle of the Little Big Horn, a

fully equipped 7th Cavalry Horse was found dead with a single shot

to the head. Next to it was an 1873 Model U.S. Springfield Carbine.

No soldier's body was found. Did a soldier get away? If so, why

did he abandon his horse and weapon. Did he escape the battle

only to be run down by Indians and killed. If so, where was the body?

Douglas Ellison of historic Medora, North Dakota, unravels the

mystery and brings to light the circumstances and conclusion of

this long sought mystery.

Doug Ellison is a  local historian and owner of the Western Edge,

subject; from the fur trade, to the Indians of the plains, to Custer.
